In the heart of Harbour Town, Sea Pines Plantation’s Mariners Way consists of twenty-six lovely two and three bedroom villas. From the balconies, you can see the manicured lawns and playground that surround the harbor. In fact, because you are above the shops in Harbour Town, you will have a wonderful view of the scenery around you—the boutiques, gift shops, superb dining spots, and, of course, the historic lighthouse. Relax in the red rocking chairs outside and view the magnificent yachts. Discover many exciting activities, including restaurants, shops, and the fabulous yachts that make Harbour Town so famous. Enjoy hiking the nearby trails, a refreshing bike ride, or a tour on the Sea Pines Trolley—including the beach. Pool access is available at the Harbour Town Pool. The Harbour Town Racquet Club is just a stone’s throw away. Mariners Way Villas is a private community. An historical tidbit is this: In 1956 Charles Fraser developed Sea Pines into the first private plantation community on the island. Mariners Way Villas amenities include beach access, biking, equestrian fun, a fitness center, lovely harbor and marina, private clubhouse, private or public golf courses, and walking paths.
Sea Pines owners enjoy residency in a full-service plantation with a broad array of amenities. Three shopping districts exist within the Sea Pines gates at Sea Pines Center, the shops at Harbour Town, and also at South Beach Marina Village. Additionally, Park Plaza shopping center and the commercial district at Sea Pines Circle are just outside Sea Pines main gate. Going back into the plantation, the first amenity that one comes upon is the Sea Pines Forest Preserve - Greenwood entrance - which is a 605+ acre nature preserve filled with trails, lakes, historic sites, and more undisturbed nature than is available elsewhere on the island, and particularly behind gates. Further in on Greenwood Drive, the visitor will come upon the Six Oaks Cemetery, Lawton Stables and animal petting farm, and Heritage Farms, where garden plots of varying sizes are available to residents on a first-come/first-serve basis for those that are inclined to do their own planting. Sea Pines has two beach clubs, both on Sea Pines Drive: Tower Beach Club on South Beach is for owners only and the Sea Pines Beach Club, across from the Plantation Club, is for owners and guests (renters). Those desiring a historical perspective of Sea Pines would not want to miss the Stoney Baynard Ruins on Plantation Drive in the Heritage Woods subarea.
