Wexford Plantation is a highly acclaimed residential gated community located in the heart of South Carolina Lowcountry on beautiful HHI. What separates Wexford from other communities is not only its serene natural backdrop, remarkable inland harbour and luxurious amenities but its inviting atmosphere and friendly residents and staff.
The Wexford is located on HHI. Unlike many areas of the United States, the community is only 32 years old – they celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2008.
The island has a history that goes back as far as Native American Occupation, and it goes through stages – from European occupation, a plantation era, the Civil War and Union occupation, reconstruction and isolation as recently as 1940, a mainland connection and modern era as recently as 1999, and in 2000, a census was taken of 33,862.
The community is located on HHI, right on the Intracoastal Waterway. HHI is a boot-shaped island that lies 20 miles by air northeast of Savannah, Georgia, and 90 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina.
HHI’s climate is ideal for those wanting to explore the outdoors and soak up the sunshine. The HH area features a balmy, subtropical climate year-round.
It consists of semi- tropical, Lowcountry geography, including unspoiled sea marshes, creeks and lagoons, heavily wooded forests of tall pines, palmettos, magnolias and live oaks, and 12 miles of broad Atlantic beach.
Being such a closely-knit community has everything to do with the shopping landscape that you’ll find here in Wexford. It provides a unique, high-end shopping island shopping experience that you literally won’t find anywhere else in the world.
